Description
“The most characteristic movement of surface water in seas and oceans is wave motion. The main cause of this is the wind blowing across the water surface. Gusts of wind create ripples which, when the wind continues to blow continuously, grow into crested waves. As these waves reach the shoreline of the sea or ocean, they break and scatter into spray. This is how crashing waves are formed.”
