Description
An illustration from the cycle “The Ancient Lithuanian Faith”.
The drawing depicts an herbalist and healer – a wise woman whose advice and help were often sought. She could perceive and see more than an ordinary person. Because of these abilities, she was classified as a witch. During the Christianization period, she was demonized, degraded, and pushed into the depths of the forests.
